The Curse of the Jade European

Can you believe that all 4 coaches that went to Europe this year with their hockey teams have been fired? Ottawa, NY, Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh have all fired their coaches. The most amazing thing is that Pat Quinn has not been picked up in this process. The guy led the Team Canada Juniors to Gold this year. And Sweden and the US were some good competition. Every time someone gets fired Quinn is the rumored go-to guy but he never gets picked up.

Im glad NY hired Tortarella. He is by far the funniest coach to listen to in interviews. So many hockey personalities lack charisma. But Tortorella is willing to swear in interviews and willing to ridicule the interviewers. Working on TSN was not the same because there are certain standards that sports analysts must live up to and Tortorella was not able to be himself with TSN. The Rangers are willing to put up with a lot of bullshit given that they used to have sean avery. hopefully they encourage tortarella to say whatever is on his mind.
