Thomas Vanek

Has Vanek been overperforming or can we expect him to keep these numbers all season? If he can keep this up, he may be the first player to score 50 goals in 50 games since Lemiuex. So far he's 11 goals in 12 games

50g/50g is the benchmark of ultimate greatness in the NHL. However with the ever increasing size of goalie pads and increasing defensive hockey, this record hasn't been broke in over a decade.

If Tommy V can pull it off he wouldn't be the first sabre to do it (Mogilny did back in 92-93). Tommy V is the only Austrian born hockey player that i can think of off the top of my head. Wouldn't it be great if he pulled a Chris Pronger circa 2006 and took the Austrian team on his back to gold in 2010. It could happen!!!
