The Pens never Lose at Home

Malkin looks completely useless to the Pens at this point in the series, but Crosby and Hossa still show signs of life. Malkin is no longer able to be the one man army up the ice. Rather, every time he gets the puck, he has extreme trouble penetrating the Detroit Defence. This is the first time all playoffs that Pittsburgh has run into a team with legitimate defensive depth.

The Detroit Red Wings are spending 20 million on their defensive players. The teams that Pittsburgh has played thus far have been spending:

Ottawa: 15 million
NY: 11 million
Philly: 18

Pittsburgh spends 18. This number doesn't make much sense because all they have is Gonchar and they seem to be more of a system defense.
